 After
qualifying at Region IV Contest, the band traveled to Mesquite, TX
for the University Interscholastic League Area C Marching contest. This
contest consist of 18 bands from various regions competing to advance to
State Competition. Pine Tree was the only band that performed military
style marching. Hearing comments of students from other bands
sitting in the stands, many have never seen or heard of military bands.
Widening the music education of these students, the Pride showed what
military marching is all about. Topping their performance at
Region Contest, Pine Tree placed as alternate to advance to State
Contest. Out of 18 bands, only 3 bands place to advance to State. Bands
advancing are Poteet, Wylie, & Grapevine with Pierce and Pine
Tree as alternates. There were seven bands representing Region IV, but
Pine Tree was the only band from our region that placed.
